Southport Christmas Spectacular: Everything You Need To Know

It’s not long to go until the Southport Christmas Spectacular takes over the town centre with a day of festive fun!

On Saturday 15 November, Christmas comes to town with a bumper day of entertainment and activities suitable for the whole family.

Visitors can enjoy a huge kids Christmas party in the Town Hall Gardens, meet and greets with children’s characters, and the ‘Big Switch On’ at The Grand later in the evening.

Here’s everything you need to know about the festive activities in Southport on Saturday 15 November.

What’s on at the Town Hall Gardens?

The Town Hall Gardens will come alive with family-friendly fun for the Southport Christmas Spectacular between 11am – 4pm.

A fun stage show will see appearances from the likes of Bluey and Bingo, members of the Peppa Pig Family, Wicked, and K-Pop Demons.  See some of your favourite characters take to the stage alongside performances from local dance schools, bitesize pantomimes, and much more.

At intervals throughout the day, there will be opportunities for people to get pictures in a brand new ‘Character Zone’ with Bluey & Bingo, and Peppa Pig, Mummy Pig and baby sister, Evie.

Face painting, craft stalls, a giant snow globe, and further activities will provide even more excitement.

Following the conclusion of the live acts, don’t miss the launch of a brand-new interactive music show on the LED Christmas tree, which will animate in colour to music through the Christmas season.

Where is the event happening?

The stage show and activities will take place in the Town Hall Gardens, which is centrally located in Southport town centre, set back off Lord Street in front of The Atkinson.

Is the event free?

The Southport Christmas Spectacular is free to attend.

Some of the activities on site (including facepainting, the snow globe etc) will be accepting donations, which will go towards supporting projects at Holy Trinity Primary School.

What else is on throughout the day?

There’s so much to do across the town centre for the Southport Christmas Spectacular.

Once we’ve wrapped things up at the Town Hall Gardens, people are invited to the Northern Quarter for The Grand’s Big Switch On event.

From 4pm, Regally Royal will host a party full of singalongs and holiday cheer.  Outside, you’ll find live DJ’s’, choir performances, and maybe even Santa himself!

The Grand’s switch on is set to take place at 6.30pm, after which people can continue the celebrations inside.

Elsewhere, Southport Market is hosting a sold-out kids rave, an al fresco festive market (11am – 4pm) and live music from 4pm, whilst Santa’s Christmas Party shows arrive at The Atkinson.
