Royal Himalayas is back with an exciting new menu

Posted 7 October 2025

The Royal Himalayas restaurant in Southport is reopening this week with a new menu, new opening hours and a grand reopening offer!

The eatery, serving the very best Nepalese food and street food, opened at 133-135 Eastbank Street, Southport town centre, in May 2024 but has been closed in recent weeks as changes were put into place.

It is the sister venue of the legendary Great Himalayas restaurant, which has won numerous national and regional awards since it opened at 665 Lord Street on 4th March 2020.

Owner Prakash Shahi said: “We are delighted to be reopening our Royal Himalayas restaurant.

“We have spoken extensively with our customers and we’re sure they will love the changes we are making.

“We are reopening our doors this Wednesday (8th October 2025), with an all new updated menu and opening hours.

“Come down and celebrate with us and enjoy 20% off during opening week only!

“Our Opening Week (8th-12th October 2025) special offer gives you 20% off your food bill only, for both dine-in customers and takeaway orders.

“We are introducing even more Nepalese street food dishes which are absolutely delicious.

“We’d love to see people come and try them and let us know what they think!

“Our team is very excited to be able to bring something very new and unique to the Southport dining scene.

“Diners can enjoy authentic Nepalese dishes from our loved rich curries to street foods, like our popular MOMO, Chowmein, chatpate, chilly chicken, and many more new dishes.

“Another new highlight will be our brand new all you can eat Nepalese Buffet, which will be available every Saturday and Sunday, and which offers fantastic value.

“It will cost just £17.99 for adults and young people aged thirteen years and above, or £9.99 for  children aged 12 years and under. Under 5s eat free!

“The Great Himalayas and Royal Himalayas have  become extremely popular since we opened.

“We have lots of regular customers, but we get extremely busy, especially during weekends.

“Having two venues to give us the capacity to welcome more diners.

“We have 120 covers at the Royal Himalayas as well as some space for people to sit and enjoy a drink outside.

“We are looking forward to welcoming back our regulars and seeing lots of new customers.”

The new opening times will be: Wednesday - Sunday: 12pm - 6pm, closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
