Explore Southport this Halloween in search of mischievous 3D monsters and characters!
Two free augmented reality (AR) trails make for a fantastic day out in Southport during the spooky season, the Moving Monsters Trail in the town centre and the Spooking Out Trail around Ocean Plaza and Viking Golf.
Explore the trails during the half-term break, Saturday 25 October - Sunday 2 November.
Using a special trail map (downloadable below), uncover hidden locations throughout the town where secret QR codes are waiting to be found. Scan the code and watch as 3D animated characters come to life!
Each stop is a perfect opportunity to pose for pictures and videos with the animated monsters and characters!
Complete the trail questions and you could be in with the chance of winning a Nintendo Switch 2 or Apple iPAD. Finish one trail for entry or both trails for two entries into the draw!
Moving Monsters Trail
Explore Southport town centre this Halloween in search of the dancing monsters! Discover the monster cocoons, scan the QR codes, and watch as the cheeky 3D beasties come to life.
After you’ve said hello to each monster, make a note of the character’s name below and you could be in with the chance of winning one of the great prizes!
Spooking Out Trail
Prepare to get spooky as you hunt for mysterious characters hidden around Ocean Plaza and Viking Golf. Find the clues, scan the QR codes and awaken skeletons, vampires, and much more! Perfect for spooky selfies or fun videos.
After you’ve discovered each mystery, make a note of the character’s name below and you could be in with the chance of winning a great prize!

Your trail map is the key to exploring both of the 3D character trails. You can pick maps up from Saturday 25 October at The Atkinson, Waterstones, or Matalan Ocean Plaza, as well as any participating business.

Go 'Treat-or-Treating'
Alongside the AR trails, businesses across Southport town centre will be taking part in ‘Treat or Treat’, where children in fancy dress can pick up a treat as they take on the trail.
