Southport sparkles at Christmastime!

Each winter, the town centre is decorated with over 200,00 lights and breathtaking festive displays.

Evening walks along Lord Street are transformed into a winter wonderland.  Walk beneath our famous LED Christmas Tree, explore the town in search of The Bear and The Reindeer, and dance to dazzling Musical Light Shows.

The Christmas Lights in Southport are made possible by the investment of Southport BID businesses.

LED Christmas Tree

Southport's iconic tree is a focal point of Christmas activity within Southport town centre.

Over 20,000 colourful LED pixels illuminate the 60ft Christmas tree that stands tall in Town Hall Gardens outside The Atkinson.  Families flock to the area each to walk underneath the tree, capturing memorable memories and marvelling at the vibrant displays.

This year, brand-new Musical Light Shows will animate the tree in sync with a medley of Christmas hits.

The Bear and The Reindeer

Two giant, illuminated Christmas characters spend their Christmas season on Lord Street.

Local people have embraced 'The Bear and The Reindeer', who first visited Southport in 2023.  These installations make for fantastic selfie opportunities, adding an extra festive sparkle to the town centre.

Twinkling Town Centre

Wander down Southport's iconic Lord Street under the Boulevard of Light', a mile-long stretch of tree lights that create a special evening atmosphere.

Whilst you're there, make sure to visit Norther Quarter and particularly The Grand, who's beautiful façade is bathed in light each festive season.

Elsewhere, discover eight further Christmas tree's around the town centre, as well as sail lights and stars that decorate the roundabouts at each end of Lord Street.
