Top tips for an unforgettable day out at Adventure Coast Southport
No family holiday or day out in Southport is complete without a visit to theme park Adventure Coast.
The fun never runs out. The stories will stick with you forever.
To make the most of your Adventure Coast experience, it's best to set aside a full day of discovery.
You'll need time to explore each of the four themed lands, where Vikings wander and fiendish Pirates lurk. There's rides, both thrilling and leisurely, that people of all ages can enjoy, as well as bountiful amusements and carnival games to be bested.
The park's food and drink options will keep you energised during your quest for adventure. Enjoy waffles, American diner classics, loaded fries, and much more. Bring a packed lunch by all accounts...but you may wish you hadn't!
Further excitement awaits beyond the park walls with Viking Golf, The Big Wheel, and the Lakeside Miniature Railway.
So let's explore the delights that await in those four themed lands, as well as some of the top surrounding attractions.


Viking Landing
Let's begin the adventure amongst the longships and runes of Viking Landing.
Thrill-seekers will make a splash on local favourite Loki’s Log Flume. Luckily Southport is always sunny...as you may well need to dry off after this one!
The Canoes are another great option for the little ones, as well as Freya's Fun House which offers up a Nordic obstacle course adventure.
Steampunk Bay
Leave the lands of Vikings behind and head to retro-futuristic setting on Steampunk Bay.
This is certainly one for the adrenaline junkies. The spinning thrills of Enigma will get the pulse racing before Ultra (the park's tallest attraction) catapults you high into the Southport sky.
You've braved the rides; now enjoy some down time soaking up the town-square atmosphere. Watch as the Flying Chairs swing by and treat your tastebuds at Steampunk Bay’s Grill Bar.


Pirate Cove
It wouldn't be a trip to the coast without a boat ride! The Ghostly Galleon is the main attraction in this land of swashbucklers; a classic pirate-ship ride that swings you back-and-forth through the sea air.
Then there's the Smuggler's Track rail ride, Dock Fun House, and the mini log-flume of Blackbeard Falls. All of which are not to be missed.
Before you sail off to new lands, check out Captain's Jack Bistro, the foodie favourite in this area. Take a break between adventures and tuck-in to hot dogs, loaded fries, and ice-cold refreshments.
Cartoon Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is the hub of activity at Adventure Coast and is home to amusements and classic attractions.
The kids (and most adults!) will adore this area. Go dizzy on the Waltzers and brace for impact on the Dodgems, before trying your luck at a variety of amusements and games.
This is our final stop off around the four themed lands, but no need to worry...the fun isn't over just yet.

Surrounding attractions
The adventure continues beyond the walls of the park.
Viking Golf has become a huge favourite with Southport residents in recent years. This mythical mini-golf course is an experience that the whole family are certain enjoy.
Just around the corner, The Big Wheel stands 35-metres tall, offering stunning panoramic views of Southport and the Sefton Coast.
The Lakeside Miniature Railway (the world’s oldest continuously running 15-inch-gauge railway) offers families a scenic and gentle ride journey the Marine Lake and Ocean Plaza.

Top tips
Book in advance : As you can see, there's a lot to squeeze in during your day out at Adventure Coast. We recommend booking online so you can make plans and get the most out of your visit.
Travel : Plenty of on-site car parking is available and the adventure awaits just a 15-minute walk away from Southport train station.
Dog friendly : When we say Adventure Coast is fun for the whole family...we mean it! Well behaved dogs (kept on leads) are very welcome.
Motorhomes : The theme park has plentiful caravan, camper van and motorhome parking; the perfect base for a long weekend in Southport.
Events : Make sure to keep your eye out for one of the many show-stopping events at Adventure Coast. The annual Day of the Dead festival is a particular highlight.
