The most Instagrammable eateries in Southport town centre
Go viral at some of Southport's trendiest bars, cafes and restaurants.
Breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner doesn’t only have to be shared with those around the table. We all love to document our foodie adventures and share them with the world.
Luckily for you, there’s a growing scene of popular Southport eateries that recognise this. Venues that go big on style as well as substance.
Chic Café-bars, swanky restaurants, and opulent brasseries that will make your social media followers turn green with envy.
On that note, we’ve put together this list of Southport’s most instagrammable places to eat.

Penelope's
Following on from the success of Emily’s in Formby village, Penelope’s opened in 2024 to much fervour and excitement.
Following on the tradition of its sister venue, Penelope’s has quickly built up a reputation as one of the most stunning locations to enjoy brunch, lunch, dinner, or a few drinks.
Diners are mesmerised by botanical paradise, with exotic plants and fauna garnishing every nook and cranny of the dining room. Blue and pastel colours give the restaurant a unique, modern Mediterranean feel.
If that wasn’t enough, Penelope’s handy location means you can also enjoy a post-lunch stroll around the beautiful Victoria Park and its surroundings.
House of Ivy
The Lord Street café-bar has a colourful and inviting exterior, but nothing will prepare you for what awaits you inside.
A vivid interior is decorated floor to ceiling with foliage and flowers. Pink and violet colours surround comfy booths. Neon signs from ivy-clad walls read ‘God is a DJ’.
The venue provides a popular setting for a lunch with friends with an extensive menu. By night, the disco ball sparkles and DJ’s take over, giving House of Ivy an altogether different feel.
What House of Ivy lacks in size, it more than makes up for in style and substance.

The Grand
The Grand is quite simply on the of the most iconic locations in Southport.
An extensive renovation of the Grade II listed building was saw the venue lose none of its historic charm or heritage. Instead, The Grand is decorated beautifully throughout, bringing a true sense of glitz and glamour to Lord Street.
In 2024, Harry’s Sky Bar opened on the top floor offering extraordinary views of Lord Street, the Southport skyline, and beyond.

V Café and Restaurant
The Vincent Café and Restaurant is a contemporary & chic setting that has been a go-to spot in Southport for decades.
Their menu offers a contemporary twist on British and European classics, whilst locals will sing the praises of their famous sushi offerings.
The Pacific bar is also a true hidden gem, offering a speakeasy vibe to go with your late-night cocktails.

Hideaway
You’ll find Hideaway just off Lord Street on Scarisbrick Avenue, a beacon of daytime activity in an area that is at its busiest in the early hours of the morning.
Inside, there is an easy-going vibe where everyone feels welcome. Walls covered in vivid pink flowers. A neon sign that displays ‘Hideaway’ let’s you know you have arrived.
The café-bar serves up a myriad of dishes covering breakfast, lunch, and brunch. Their Belgian waffles are especially Instagram-friendly.
Make sure to look up if you stop by for a late lunch in Winter, as the Canopy of Light above Scarisbrick Avenue will be in full effect.
Southport Market
Southport Market re-opened in 2021 and has become a must-visit for foodies ever since.
Visitors can dine around the world at ten diverse food stalls that feature incredible local food traders.
Tuck into wood-fired pizza from 600 degrees or try Kaizen’s decadent pan-Asian dishes. Just make sure to leave room for a slice of magic from Cake Corner.
The Market has a truly unique style, decorated with fun elements that celebrate Southport’s seaside and tourism heritage. It looks truly spectacular at Christmas too.

Waterfront Marina Restaurant
The Southport Waterfront Hotel hotel has arguably the best view in Southport, looking over the Marine Lake and the coast beyond.
Whether you’re enjoying a late brunch on the Sun Terrace, or attending a party in their panoramic event space, there’s no shortage of opportunities for a scenic selfie at The Waterfront.

JT Akshaya
The sparkling new Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurant opened on Coronation Walk in Winter 2024. It's easy to see why this place has become and instant hit with Southport locals.
JT Akshaya's interior transports you to another world. Atmospherically lit in red and orange, the restaurant interior features ornate floral decorations, bespoke booth seating, and even a colourful aquarium.
Get some friends together and enjoy a meal beneath their signature sprawling blossom tree. Perfect for selfies...if you can take your eyes of the food that is.
