Southport Beer Week returns for 2026

Posted 25 March 2026

The beer festival, now in its second year, celebrates the great beer served by the pubs and bars of Southport town centre.

This year’s Southport Beer Week will take place from Wednesday 20 – Monday 25 May 2026.  A perfect excuse for a visit to Southport over the bank holiday weekend.

People can enjoy an ‘ale trail’ featuring town centre pubs and bars across the town centre, who will be hosting host a series of different events throughout the festival.

Visit some of the participating venues, try a selection of tasty cask ales and craft beers, and collect stamps along the way.  Collect enough stamps to complete the trail booklet and you could be in with the chance of winning some great prizes.

It’s estimated that well over 90 beers will be available from the eighteen pubs and bars that are already signed up for this year’s festival.

Beer Week showcases traditional pubs like The Guesthouse, The Masons Arms, The Windmill, and The Lakeside Inn.  Craft beer bar Tap and Bottles, Northern Quarter venues Sinclair’s and Punch Tarmey’s, and new beer bodega The Bugle Tap are amongst the many others involved.

Last year saw a whole host of events and activities taking place including tap takeovers, meet the brewer events, special quizzes, beer history tours, live music, food promotions and much more.  Individual events will be announced closer to the time.

Luke Randles, Head of Operations at Southport BID said: “The first Beer Week in 2025 was a resounding success with both our businesses and attendees eager to see it return as an annual event.

It was great to see so many joining in with the celebrations last year and there was a real buzz around the hospitality venues in the town centre.

May is set to be a very exciting month in Southport, with the Big Top Festival and Food and Drink Festival also taking place.”

Southport Beer Week is organised by Southport BID (Business Improvement District), working alongside Southport Pubwatch members and town centre venues.

Celebrated local artist Ruthie Illustrations has once again created original artworks to celebrate the event.
