This area boasts a variety of activities ideal for a fun-filled day out for the whole family.  The kids will love crazy golf, the hall of mirrors, and exploring the water on swan pedalos.  Fish and chips and picnics on the grass are something of a tradition here too.

The historic Gardens are home to some of Southport's favourite family attractions, as well as acres of lush greenery, Victoria shelters, fountains, and Venetian bridges.

So pack your bags and let's make the most of a summer day in Southport, as we explore the best things to do around the seafront area.

Silcock’s seaside fun

The Silcock’s name is synonymous with Southport and traditional seaside fun.

We start out adventure at the ginormous Funland amusement centre, which is open all year round and jam-packed full of classic games and rides.  There are big prizes to be won and plenty of laughs to be had.

Take a spin on the famous Carousel, built in 1901, or try the befuddling Hall of Mirrors.  All are must-dos during any summer trip to Southport.

Head south from Silcock’s Funland, and you’ll be met with Victorian shelters, venetian bridges, and picture-perfect picnic spots.

The gardens and green spaces that border the Marine Lake are a hive of summertime activity.

Enjoy a peaceful stroll around the 17-acre gardens, taking in the fountains and flowers, before letting the kids run wild at the unique play area.

Top family attractions here include the Southport Model Railway Village and the Masters Crazy Golf.

Southport Watersports provide several leisurely, family friendly activities that allow visitors to experience the southern end of the Marine Lake.

The classic motorboats are a tradition for days out in Southport, offering passengers a leisurely jaunt around the lake.  Swan and flamingo pedalos are just as fun, whilst the superfast Southport Jet provides some action for thrill-seekers.

The northern side of the lake is reserved for more active pursuits, including sailing and stand up paddleboarding. Read our guide to Marine Lake water sports for more information.
