Mad Dog 10k
Victoria Park | Sunday 8 February 2026
The MAD DOG 10K is an annual coastal run open to all levels, delivering a lively race-day experience in Southport which both locals and visitors enjoy.
Expect scenic routes, live music, ever-changing annual themes, and a bold fancy-dress competition that makes this event both entertaining and challenging.
Under-16's can also join in the fun with the Mad Dog Pups race.
Southport Triathlon and Multisport
Waterside Lodge | Sunday 17 May 2026
Southport Triathlon welcomes all abilities. The event features closed-road cycling and a scenic run that circles Southport Marine Lake.
There are multiple options for potential competitors to choose from, including Sprint and Standard distances, and Duathlon and Aquathon races.
Conquer the Coast
Victoria Park | 25 - 26 July 2026
Conquer the Coast brings a weekend of chaos, community, and team-based CrossFit competition to Southport.
At their outdoor event space at Victoria Park, teams can compete in Everyday, Intermediate or RX categories. This is a hectic weekend of challenging workouts in an inclusive and spectator-friendly environment.
Southport Seaside 10k
Adventure Coast | Sunday 2 August 2026
The Southport Seaside 10K is a flat, fast 10‑kilometre road race along Southport’s promenade and Marine Drive, ideal for runners of all abilities.
Starting near Adventure Coast Southport and finishing in Princes Park, the course offers seafront views and potential personal best times, with chip timing and spectator‑friendly routes.
24-hour Yacht Race
Marine Lake | 12-13 September 2026
Over 500 competitors descend on Southport to take part in the famous dinghy race, which tasks competitors with a 24-hour race around a large section of the beautiful Marine Lake.
If you're not competing, a visit to watch the boat race can be just as rewarding. Visit the Lakeside Inn pub for one of the best views (if you can get a seat that is…), or pick a lakeside spot to take in the colourful spectacle.

The seafront fitness centre hosts a number of DEKA events throughout the year.

Pure strength. Heavy weights, powerful movements, zero running. Perfect if you love lifting and want to see how strong you really are.
⚡DEKA MILE | Sunday 22 March
Strength meets endurance. 10 functional zones broken up by 160m runs. Fast, intense, and the most popular DEKA format.

There's nothing better than keeping fit for a good cause! There are a number of annual events that raise money for charities, whilst also providing a fun day out for families in Southport.
⭐ Star Trekk
Friday 8 May 2026
One of the most popular community events in Southport each year. The10k sponsored night walk brings together families and individuals to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice.
⭐ Santa Sprint
Sunday 6 December 2026
A sea of Santa's descends on Southport's Promenade as hundreds of runners, walkers and dog walkers don their Father Christmas suits to walk either a 3k or a 5k course to support Queenscourt Hospice.
