“We are absolutely thrilled to be launching these new monthly markets in Southport,” said Lisa Cowley, Founder of Independent Street.
“Southport Market is a shining example of how investment in traditional market towns can help revitalise communities and support independent traders. Its ethos of championing small businesses perfectly reflects our own mission at Independent Street. Events like this are a great way to bring the community together, whilst boosting footfall and connecting visitors with local businesses. We can’t wait to see you all there”.
Cllr Paulette Lappin, Deputy Leader of Sefton Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Independent Street to Southport Market, especially now we have such a beautifully enhanced outdoor space thanks to the Les Transformation public realm works.
“The Independent Street events guarantee to bring a real vibrancy to the Market Quarter and we can’t wait to see the buzz it generates.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for local artisans across Southport and Sefton to showcase their work and we’d love to see as many local artisan businesses as possible get involved.
“The addition of this new outdoor market is a perfect complement to the existing delicious array of vendors inside the market hall and is a wonderful way to take full advantage of the beautifully refurbished and revitalised public realm throughout the Market Quarter in Southport Town Centre”
